Memberships

How do I apply for a membership card?
A driver’s license with your current address or photo identification card is required.
How do I apply for a membership card for my child?

Children age 3 or older may obtain a card.
Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

What is the cost of a membership card?
Membership is free to all residents of the Pen Argyl Area School District.
How do I apply for a membership card if I do not live in the Pen Argyl Area School District?
A driver’s license with your current address or photo identification card is required. Non-resident fees are $12.00 per membership for the calendar year.

Lending

How many items may I borrow?
Five items may be borrowed per membership card.
How long is the borrowing period?
Items may be borrowed for two weeks.
How can I renew my items?

All items may be renewed by the due date either in person at the desk or by calling the library. Items may be renewed one time. If items are overdue, they cannot be renewed.

Please note: NEW items and/or items on reserve CANNOT be renewed.

How do I return my items?
During hours of operation, items must be returned at the desk. When the library is closed, please use the book drop located near the main entrance. In order to avoid fines, you must return all items before the library is closed for the day.

Fines

What are the fine amounts for overdue items?

There are no fines for overdue items.  Patrons who return overdue items are encouraged to make a donation.

Computer

How do I use the computer?

Two computers are available for a 30 minute time slot.

Can I print from the computer?

Printing is available.  Individuals with BMCL membership cards are required to show their membership card.  Non-patrons, especially those residing in the Pen Argyl School District, are encouraged to open a library membership.  If a non-patron doesn’t open a library membership, he/she must show a valid photo ID and provide a contact phone number.

What is the fee to print?

Fees for prints or copies are $.25 per black-and-white sheet and $1.00 per photo/color sheet.  Full details are available at the library.
